sustainability
APL approach to sustainability is holistic and balanced.

Our vision is to stand out as a leader in sustainable construction, leveraging advanced technologies and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
We maintain a strategic balance across the three pillars of sustainability, Social, Environmental, and Economic, fully aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and internationally recognized sustainability frameworks, including ESGs, SDGs, and GRIs.
We identify and maximize sustainability opportunities through a thorough evaluation of our business culture, value chain, and operational processes, ensuring continuous improvement and responsible growth.
People and Culture
Promoting a deeper understanding and fostering stronger organizational alignment with sustainable principles by integrating them into the corporate culture, enhancing knowledge, and encouraging innovative approaches to sustainability. This includes actively engaging in and supporting community-oriented sustainability initiatives, programs, and events
Projects and operations
This approach involves identifying and assessing sustainability impacts throughout the entire value chain, establishing clear and measurable sustainability KPIs for each project, integrating sustainable practices from the design phase through to project completion, and securing recognized industry certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, Green Globes, WELL, Parksmart, and Energy Star to ensure compliance with global best practices.
Governance
Establishing an effective governance framework to guide and monitor the implementation of sustainability initiatives, aligning regulations and policies with recognized sustainability standards, and conducting regular audits of key performance indicators and progress reports to ensure continuous improvement and accountability.
Innovation and partnerships
Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches to drive sustainable construction, while fostering strategic collaborations with SMEs, research institutions, universities, and diverse stakeholders to accelerate sustainability initiatives, complemented by active engagement through membership in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).
Assessment Strategy
Prioritize key ESG matters across operational and cultural areas, aligned with GRI, Vision 2030, and SDGs.
A thorough and systematic assessment should be carried out across the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) spectrum to identify, prioritize, and define the most relevant areas for transparent and effective reporting. This process should involve applying the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) matrix as a diagnostic tool to evaluate the organization’s current sustainability performance, benchmark it against best practices, and uncover areas for potential enhancement, thereby establishing a clear set of material topics for disclosure. In parallel, Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 targets must be carefully analyzed to ensure strategic alignment with national objectives and to integrate relevant sector-specific goals into the sustainability framework. Furthermore, a comprehensive Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) matrix should be employed to conduct a full value chain impact assessment, enabling the organization to map its influence on social, environmental, and economic outcomes, and to develop a robust reporting approach that highlights contributions to the most pertinent global sustainability targets.
